The Auton Lab develops AI and machine learning algorithms and applied them to a broad spectrum of scientific, commercial, and government applications. We seek software engineers for a new project developing AI-based approaches to multi-agent perception and autonomy systems.
Your core responsibilities include:
Design, develop, implement, test, maintain, optimize applications or systems programs written in Python and/or C++.
Typically work on more diverse and complex programming assignments that require advanced knowledge of programming and system capabilities.
Develop and use software to manage and process large datasets.
Develop and use software for managing computation on large computer clusters.
Integrate software into larger systems and prepare demonstrations showing their capabilities.
Collaborate cross-functionally with research and engineering teams at CMU and its partner institutions.
Write publications and reports describing methods and results.
Bachelor's degree in a computer science related discipline
3+ years experience of software development in C/C++ and/or Python
A very strong quantitative background
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Machine learning and AI skills are a plus
