TD Securities US Finance is a part of the wider TD Securities Finance group. As one of the three regional finance groups for the Wholesale Banking segment of TD Bank Group, it has a key role in the USA providing financial, management, liquidity and regulatory reporting. In addition, by its nature as a primary control and support group in the region, TDS Finance USA provides business information supporting projects and initiatives often as the liaison with the other groups and segments both in the US and Canada but also with the other regions (UK and Singapore).
The Intermediate Finance Analyst II - TDS conducts a range of analysis and/or provides operational support as it relates to a specialized / operational or Business Unit Finance area.
The individual will have a wide array of exposure to TD including finance, operations, compliance, etc. and as a result, gain valuable cross-organizational knowledge. The individual will also learn about TDS USA on a comprehensive basis as reporting requires in-depth understanding of entire balance sheets, P&L, as well as transactional data.
Provides recommendations or escalates issues to appropriate area.
Conducts regular financial analysis / reporting to support business partner, functional Finance areas or centers of expertise.
Generates accurate and complete daily independent P&L and publish results on the applicable web reporting platform in a timely manner and escalate issues as per Trading Risk Standards.
Where applicable, reconciles daily P&L and position reports to front office P&L estimates or other system reports.
Obtains daily Front Office P&L sign-off. Adhere to Trading Risk Services policy regarding the escalation of non-compliance with sign offs to upper management.
Provides analysis of P&L and investigates and resolves all discrepancies/differences.
Generates accurate and complete processes to measure and report on market risk and ensure that all risk reports are submitted as per reporting guideline.
Ensures risks within portfolios covered are correctly measured, aggregated, and analyzed in accordance with established and approved market risk policies.
Provides analysis, reporting and monitoring of risk exposure and adhere to Trading Risk Standard with regards to violations and escalation of production issues.
Reviews financial information / performance data against benchmarks and reconcile any causes of variance for the business / functional area supported within well-defined guidelines.
Identifies, recommends and implements basic finance, accounting processes and/or procedural improvements within own area of control.
Moderate level of complexity in analysis / reporting or operational function requiring a short to medium term focus.
Operates as a working lead on finance initiatives as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting/Financial Management (accounting designation is preferred but not required)
5-7 years related experience
General business or specialized finance, accounting or operational knowledge or related skills required
Requires intermediate to expert knowledge of the finance function and/or the key business areas supported
