Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a PD-Massage Therapist.
In this role, the successful candidate will provide massage therapy for oncology patients in the NYU Clinical Cancer Center and associated sites and oversee educational initiatives.
Maintains schedule of LMTs and ensures coverage for all shifts
Trains new LMTs and performs competency assessments
Assists Manager in designing educational programming and in teaching workshops for internal and external constituents
Develops individual treatment plans based on patients' symptoms
Obtains medical clearance from MD or RN before performing massage therapy
Educates patients on specific massage techniques used in oncology massage regarding benefits, safety and optimal dosing for symptom management
Supports patients in developing additional means of self-care for relaxation, such as meditation and yoga
Documents treatment notes in electronic medical record
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree, valid NYS license in massage therapy, three years' experience providing massage therapy in a clinical setting and advanced training in one or more of the following topics/modalities: Oncology massages, Hospital-based massage, Reiki, Meditation, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Supervisory and/or teaching experience.
Required Licenses: NYS-Massage Therapist License
