As a member of the HPD family, you will work closely with our clients, team of engineers, and manufacturing specialists to create equipment that enables scientists to explore new topics with leading-edge technologies in fields as diverse as atmospheric science, precision medicine, and quantum and superconducting computing. Our team has developed critical, custom equipment for partners such as NASA and LIGO and we need additional creative scientists to keep pace with client demand for new instrument development.
In this position, you will be responsible for the top level management of complex technical projects. You will be involved in the full life cycle of many of the projects, from the initial customer conversations, the job definition, the proposal writing and negotiations, and will be the primary pathway to contracts-level persons with the customer, throughout the project. During the duration of the job, the Senior Project Manager will draw information from our accounting department, from our materials resource planning system, and conversations with our internal instrument scientist and engineering manager. The Senior Project Manager will work to reconcile schedule, cost, scope, and remaining work using our Job Tracker tool. The Senior Project Manager will manage these aspects of multiple projects simultaneously.
After winning a job, you, As the Senior Project Manager, and a leading member of our team, may be involved in the full life cycle of both projects and products, from ideation with the customer, through design with the engineering team, manufacturing with the shop and outside vendors, assembly with our excellent assembly group, testing, and launch at the customer site. HPD creates a variety of custom solutions and has a portfolio of standard products that need constant development to make sure that we are meeting the customers’ evolving needs.
