The Ithaca College Department of Gerontology and Gerontology Institute seek candidates for the non-tenure eligible position of Assistant Professor and Ithaca College/Longview Coordinator. This is a half-time teaching/half-time program coordinator position. Teaching responsibilities include 100-level introductory aging courses and upper-level aging courses (a total of 2 courses/semester). Faculty participate in the life of the department by contributing to program assessment, academic advising, and serving on area faculty and other committees in the practice of shared governance. Non-tenure eligible positions have no specific requirements for scholarship, research, or publication.
Ithaca College/Longview Partnership coordination involves collaborating with the Longview staff liaison to: (1) facilitate the planning of course-related and other activities at Longview and on campus with faculty, staff, students, and Longview residents; (2) coordinate a monthly faculty/staff lecture series at Longview; (3) assist Longview residents and staff with course registration; (4) assist in coordinating the LV/IC shuttle system; (5) create reports of IC/Longview Partnership activities and assist in the development and implementation of research and/or evaluation projects regarding the impact of the partnership on residents and students; (6) coordinate meetings of two IC/LV committees; and (7) manage all communications related to the partnership (Longview and Ithaca College publications, media, photo/video shoots, etc.).
