The Regional Director of Medical Staff Services provides leadership, management and operational oversight of the medical staff in an integrated delivery network (IDN) throughout the SSM Health WI region. The Regional Director of Medical Staff Services works collaboratively with the Regional Chief Medical Officer, VPMAs of all hospitals, Medical Directors within SSM Health Med Groups and surgical centers and Dean Health Plan credentialing and regulatory staff. The Regional Director of Medical Staff Services will lead the coordination of a centralized credentialing verification office serving the needs of the regions’ hospitals, medical groups and health plan in addition to facilitation and planning of the required program and activities of the medical staff and medical groups served in the area. The Regional Director of Medical Staff Services will facilitate the budget development and operational activities of the Medical Staff Services at the hospital level and regional IDN level. This position reports Primarily to the St. Mary’s VPMA and indirectly to the Regional CMO. The position is located at St. Mary’s Hospital, where the Regional CVO is located. They directly supervises Medical Staff coordinators and works collaboratively with the VPMA at each hospital to carry out responsibilities in accordance with SSM Health policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing, completing performance appraisals, coaching and resolving problems and complaints
National Association Medical Staff Service(NAMSS) CPMSM
Minimum 6 years Medical Staff Services experience in a hospital setting
Detailed understanding of The Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS, Wisconsin Department of Health regulations, as they apply to Medical Staff Services, or equivalent State experience, physician and allied health practitioner credentialing, and governance.
MBA and/or MHA
Minimum 6 years management/supervisory experience in a hospital. Integrated Delivery Network experience
