Job Duties JOB SUMMARY: Organize and direct all aspects of a NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing, directing and coaching an intercollegiate Varsity Women’s Basketball Program. Recruit and develop Student-Athletes. Consistently monitor academic progress of Student-Athletes. Commitment to promoting and protecting the safety, health and well-being of Student-Athletes. Commitment to and compliance with the principles and bylaws of the NCAA, Conference, the University and the Athletic Department, as well as a demonstrated record of ethical decision making and sound-level judgment. Managing all aspects of the program including, but not limited to: practice and competition scheduling, budget, assistant coaches/graduate assistants, travel, and equipment needs. Participates in development, marketing, public and media relations activities to promote the Women’s Basketball Program, University and Department. Commitment to comply fully with the mission statements of the University and the Department.

Adheres to University and department policies, procedures, and regulations. Adheres to laws, bylaws, rules, policies, regulations, and constitutional provisions of the federal government, state of North Carolina, Board of Trustees, Board of Governors, East Carolina University, or any other governing authority.
Oversight and administration of all aspects of the Women’s Basketball program with a priority on the development and well-being of the student-athlete, academic success and competitive excellence grounded on the athletics department creed (mission) and code (core values).
Complies with NCAA and AAC rules and regulations, and department plans.
Demonstrates effectiveness in monitoring student-athlete academic progress, retention, and graduation.
Hiring, instructing, supervising and monitoring coaching staff and Women’s Basketball designated administrative staff with the goal of assuring attendance at regularly scheduled compliance coaches meetings and full compliance with NCAA, University and conference policies, regulations and guidelines.
Sets and accomplishes program goals.
Demonstrates effectiveness in maintaining discipline and control of student-athletes and program.
Effectively maintains budget, organizational skills and student-athlete involvement.
Maintains effective working relationship with department support staff and other university personnel.
Effectiveness in management of scholarships.
Demonstrates effectiveness of public relations, media relations, and people skills.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree required. Must have collegiate Women’s Basketball coaching experience.
Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.
