Business Unit Overview : The Controllers group is responsible for safeguarding the firm's assets: to help maintain the integrity of Goldman Sachs' finances and expenditures.
Through careful consideration and analyses of firm finances, objectives and strategies, we ensure that the firm's businesses continue to be profitable and efficiently run. Controllers also ensure that all business practices are in compliance with financial and regulatory requirements worldwide. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Responsibilities:
Coordination, processing and tax reporting of compensation information for employees.
Responsible for the compensation reporting and accounting for both external as well as internal authorities
Commitment to control, ensuring data/ information flow has gone through proper internal controls
Review, reconcile and substantiate monthly entries to general ledger accounts for various payroll and accrual entries.
Assist in formulating/automating payroll process to facilitate new operations for the firm.
Working closely with Regional counterparts in the administration of compensation reporting and processing
Documentation of processes
Participation in global projects
Skills / Experience:
Required skill sets include:
Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
At least 4+ years of actual payroll experience in foreign payroll (UK esp.) within a global organization
Doing payroll for Europe especially London payroll and GP experience Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
Details and controls oriented
Flexible, can easily adapt to changes.
Strong PC skills, PeopleSoft - Global Payroll, MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook
Knowledge on tax and local benefits is a plus
High attention to detail
Strong Control Mind-set
Good spoken language skills (experience of dealing with multiple foreign vendors and teams) Self-starter and team player
Ability to take and follow direction
New payroll implementation
Ability to work EMEA hours
Good systems ability
