Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Administrative Analyst IV, for the Department of Administration and Planning at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in data collection for review, analysis and appraisal of research program administrative procedures, in order to prepare recommendations for changes and/or revisions of processes and procedures, with the overall intent of promoting cancer research funding, education, and administration. This position is required to provide high level administrative support to the Program Manager.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Collects data relevant to programmatic activities and processes on a regular basis from various stakeholders.
Enters data into appropriate databases, software, and online platforms regularly, while maintaining a high degree of input accuracy.
Assists in reviewing program data, records and activities and in evaluating their administration, objectives, efficiency, effectiveness, and suitability to current conditions, costs, and goals, using established procedures and standards.
Assists in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documentation in the ongoing oversight of programmatic activities and in the investigation and development of solutions to problem areas; identifies and works toward the elimination of unnecessary and/or wasteful administrative practices and positions; helps to determine where program and/or administrative duplication may exist.
Assists in the analysis of operational problems brought to light through budget studies, and requests; compiles and interprets data.
Assists in the planning, developing, and conducting of analytical studies of existing operations and routines to determine feasibility for computerization and makes recommendations as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration or a related field, plus one (1) year of professional experience involving the review, analysis and evaluation of budgets, organizations, and administrative practices, and the recommendation of improved methods, preferably in a large business, government agency, healthcare or educational institution.
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and a highly professional demeanor in person and on the telephone.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
PHYSICALDEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
