The Harvard Global Health Institute (HGHI) is hiring a Program Manager to join like-minded colleagues.
HGHI is a cross university institute and collaborates with university and external partners around the world to develop the knowledge that will generate better outcomes for the health of the world's population. HGHI has an immediate opening for a skilled Program Manager. Reporting to HIGH's Executive Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management of the Institute's programmatic efforts working closely with HGHI's partners at the University and across the world.

Recent accomplishments spearheaded by Program Managers:
· A comprehensive global framework for monitoring disease outbreaks · Publication of a groundbreaking study on health quality study in The Lancet · Radcliffe Workshop on the intersection of climate, health and agriculture
· Working closely with HGHI's leadership team, including the Faculty Director and Executive Director, this role sets the program vision and design and oversees daily management of new and on-going programs. · Provides ongoing support for new and existing HGHI initiatives by identifying problems, defining success metrics, determining audience, and utilizing data to produce program evaluations on global health initiatives. · Works closely with external partners across industries (ie: policy makers, physicians, government officials, corporate executives) to advance initiatives. Exhibits a high degree of problem solving, judgement, professionalism, and technical competency. · Manages working relationships between Harvard project staff, faculty and staff. Contributes to and makes critical technical and programmatic decisions that require competency in areas of quality of health care, health financing, health systems development and human resources for health.· Works closely with the HGHI's financial/events staff to establish program vision and oversee implementation, create program budgets. · Travels to event/program sites as relevant for partnership development, program implementation and dissemination. · Analyzes data and prepares presentations of findings in support of programmatic strategy. · Drafts grant materials, including proposals and progress reports as needed. · Performs other tasks, as needed. · Supervision of a Research Assistant
This is a one year term appointment with the possibility of renewal based on available funding

Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role:
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a research-oriented environment.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex organization and across multiple units and levels.
Master's degree (MS/MPH or other relevant education) strongly preferred.
Experience in management of global health programs strongly preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred
Strong oral and written skills.
Entrepreneurial spirit, flexibility, and high capacity to multi-task and to meet competing deadlines.
Experience in managing projects from inception through completion and demonstrated ability to problem-solve.
Ability to work independently and proactively with limited direction.
Attention to detail and follow through.
