Maintain institutional compliance with federal regulations governing the enrollment of international students and scholars within the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). Serve as the Designated School Official (DSO) and an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO). Update institutional policies, requirements and forms as necessary.
Provide immigration advising to international students and scholars on the Dahlonega campus regarding status, compliance, and benefits. Assist with international student employment on campus; coordinate international student housing with residence life office; provide guidance and assistance with health insurance, taxes, academic issues, student conduct, university support services and resources. Subject matter expert for all language students, degree-seeking students, scholars, interns and exchange students.
Coordinate international student programming on the Dahlonega campus. Plan fall and spring international student orientations. Coordinate international student pick up and drop off for new and returning international students at the beginning and end of each semester. Support the development and management of educational, cultural, and social programs including events such as international education week; Support the International Student Association., Collaborate with university partners to develop resources and programming for inclusive excellence which promotes successful interactions and ongoing global learning opportunities for the university community.
Assist relevant staff in implementation of strategic international enrollment plan.
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of experience working in the field of international education required.
Experience working in international education for a college/university, vendor, or third-party provider preferred.
Evening and weekend hours required.
