As the Assistant Controller you will work collaboratively with the VP, Controller to manage and direct the company’s accounting function while maintaining financial and administrative best practices, safeguarding the corporation’s assets by maintaining proper controls over corporate resources, and properly reporting the financial position of the corporation by ensuring the integrity of the books and records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory requirements.
You will interact professionally and build relationships at all levels within the organization. You have strong organizational skills and analytical abilities with a high degree of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality and are able to meet deadlines and handle confidential/sensitive matters. You possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and have proficient computer skills (Excel/Power Point/Word). The Assistant Controller will also supervise staff, allocate resources, mentor and coach.
Responsibilities (not all-inclusive list):
Manage general ledger and financial reporting process, tax reporting and compliance, retirement plan accounting and reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for multiple operating entities.
Oversee monthly close and the preparation of monthly management reports and quarterly financial statements, as well as required regulatory reports.
Assist in year-end close and coordination of external audits.
Participate in the corporate budget process and periodic analysis.
Recommend and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.
Participate as a financial resource for the corporation which can include ad hoc financial analysis, financial modeling, evaluation of various business opportunities, etc.
Evaluate the performance of staff and provide counsel, guidance, training/development, and mentoring which leads to improved team performance.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Minimum seven years accounting experience
Minimum three years supervisory experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Experience with NetSuite
