The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at Columbia University invites applications for full-time faculty positions at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline or Senior Lecturer in Discipline to teach in the Construction Administration MS program. The positions will begin on July 1, 2019. These are full-time appointments with multi-year renewal contingent on successful review.
The successful candidates will teach graduate courses related to construction management in one or more of the following areas: Construction Project Management, Capstone, Scheduling, Estimating, and Elementals of Construction.
Responsibilities include leading programmatic and curricular development efforts, providing academic advising to students, and offering pedagogical advising to adjunct faculty. Successful candidates are expected to provide service to the program, to the school, and to the University through membership on faculty governance, search, and review committees; participate in programmatic and school-wide faculty meetings; participate in student activities such as orientation, convocations, student competitions, alumni/professional associations, and commencement; and engage in pursuits that help to further organize and contribute to the growth of the body of knowledge in their respective disciplines, and/or to explore interdisciplinary implications.
The ideal candidates will hold a master's degree in business, finance, law, real estate, architecture, engineering or other areas related to construction management and exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, instructional design, and professional practice and/or scholarship.
Candidates at the rank of Senior Lecturer in Discipline are expected to have substantial experience and accomplishments, a superlative record of teaching as a lecturer, and documented evidence of excellence in carrying out administrative or other department responsibilities.
Candidates at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline are expected to have teaching experience, documented evidence of excellence, and evidence of professional growth and activity in the given field.
