POSITION: Contract Position: Paid Social Media Specialist
REPORTS TO: Director, Digital Strategy
The paid social media specialist plans, executes, and analyzes digital advertising and paid social media campaigns to support the strategic plans and goals of various teams throughout the Council to increase brand awareness, drive traffic, and generate conversions. S/he should possess a strong grasp of primary online marketing strategies, SEO, paid search, display, social platforms, content marketing, targeting, and retargeting. S/he must have the ability to work on multiple accounts and deliver projects on deadlines and budget. This is a contract position with the possibility of contract to hire.
Coordinate and execute digital advertising and paid social campaigns and workflows, including creating and updating content calendars and promotion plans.
Improve paid campaigns and engagement across platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google Ads, and the development of strategic POVs.
Develop creative copy, assets, images, and graphics to be used in campaigns.
Integrate digital advertising and paid social media campaigns with Google Analytics to track performance by setting goals and building trackable URLs.
Responsible for bid management, keyword research, specific country targeting, and optimizing campaigns with text for ads, etc.
Identify and develop target audiences, optimize efforts based on testing, report on overall campaign performance, and propose new tactics.
Monitor campaigns daily for pacing and performance and modifying accordingly to exceed KPIs and expectations.
Work with digital content and marketing officers to communicate results and opportunities to teams throughout the Council.
Consult on landing page optimization (SEO/SEM) and testing recommendations for campaigns.
Work within the monthly social media advertising budget and provide clear, strong reporting on tactics, ad spend, results, and conversion metrics.
Manage the Council’s Sprout Social account and train teams throughout the Council to use it to contribute to the Council’s overall social presence.
Three+ years of social media marketing experience and bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, advertising, communications, or business
Prior experience executing paid social and digital advertising campaigns and solid understanding of an expansive list of tools and platforms
Competence running Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns in Facebook Ads Manager, as well as experience with the Twitter ads platform
Solid understanding of Google Ads execution and management, including both search (bid management, keyword research) and display network (remarketing, contextual advertising)
Experience with Adwords budget allocation and planning (grant and paid accounts)
Experience with Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Adwords Editor and other analytics platforms
Proficient knowledge of Adobe creative suite
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and effective presentation skills
Strong analytical, listening, and creative problem-solving skills
Superb time/task management skills and ability to handle multiple, competing priorities while meeting deadlines, managing risk, and troubleshooting problems
Must be a self-starter and take the initiative to find answers by continually following up and collaborating with cross-functional teams
