This PT Assistant Manager position is for Out-Patient Physical Therapy and is located at Wilmington Hospital.
In this position, you will provide Physical Therapy for individuals requiring rehabilitation after injury or disease process and assist the program manager/site manager with supervision and direction of the Physical Therapy Department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Meets all requirements of a PT Level II.
Provides direct clinical evaluation and treatment of patients referred for physical therapy.
Assists the program manager/site manager with direction of day-to-day operations of the Physical Therapy Department on all campuses.
Provides clinical oversight for staff providing physical therapy evaluation and treatment to patients.
Provides leadership to staff on the current programming for Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Services.
Responsible for assisting program manager/site manager with performance management of staff, including professional development and positive discipline.
Provides feedback to the program manager/site manager on the fiscal operations of the Physical Therapy Department.
Evaluates the effectiveness of physical therapy programs and provides feedback for changes that may be necessary or improvements that can be achieved. Is a leader and active participant with performance improvement.
Provides leadership and direction for clear concise documentation of patient progress and assists with monitoring of staff compliance with documentation guidelines, billing, rules and regulations.
Maintains current knowledge of rules and regulations that govern the practice of physical therapy and orients staff and managers on changes.
Promotes excellence in patient and family centered care.
Provides professional consultation regarding patient goals, status, equipment, and discharge recommendations to the clinical team.
Supervises Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, and students during clinical education programs.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices and infection control policies. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Graduate of an A.P.T.A. approved school of Physical Therapy
MS or DPT in Physical Therapy preferred
Minimum 3 years of clinic experience
Licensure in the State of Delaware as a Physical Therapist and other state licensure as required
APTA membership required
