We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager-Finance.
In this role, the successful candidate will help with the management of the staff and workflow of the Radiology Finance Unit. This person, once trained, should be able to effectively carry any of the responsibilities of the Director (Finance) of Radiology Finance should she/he be absent for any reason or if needed to do during a regular operational day. The person will be responsible for helping to implement and manage systems/reports of financial control and forecasting for the Department of Radiology. Also, this person will assist the Director to improve efficiencies and help to maintain a smooth workflow within the unit. In addition, the assistant manager will help supervise the financial analysts and the accounts payable area. This person will also prepare financial reports as needed and work on the annual budget.
Budgeting Assists the Division Administrator with the management of the annual budget process. Works on budget spreadsheets and the Medical Center's budget application (Hyperion), as needed. Will help to develop methodology for projecting revenue and expenses. Assists in monitoring actuals vs. budgets with an eye toward identifying any variances and explaining them.
Financial Projection & Other Reports: Supervises the download of the monthly General Ledger to the Radiology Finance database. Supervises the preparation of the monthly accruals.Supervises the preparation of the monthly revenue/expense projection.Prepares monthly overtime cost reports. Reviews the monthly GRF and CBI financial reports. Reviews financial reports with an eye to improving their quality and reducing the time to do them. Prepares various ad hoc reports as needed.
Financial Controls & JV Processing Oversees the Petty Cash Audit for the Department. Reviews various financial reconciliations. Reviews all monthly journal entries for submission to FGP and reconciles them with the GL.
Accounts Payable / Purchasing processing: Reviews the processing of faculty reimbursements for travel and academic enrichment. Reviews and approves eReqs in Enterprise Connect, as needed. Reviews invoices for the department. Works with the Accounts Payable Supervisor to troubleshoot on various AP/Purchasing issues.
Accounts Receivable processing: Follows-up to make sure the A/R is being worked on for nonpatient fee billing.
Administrative Departmental Support: Prepares eHires and eCPP's as needed. Processes faculty and nonfaculty salary and account changes as needed. Prepares faculty salary increase justification forms. Prepares and processes 'request to recruits'and terminations in MSS. Prepares monthly physician additional compensation spreadsheets for various coverages. Reviews quarterly malpractice insurance premiums and communicates all changes with the Insurance dept. Maintains and helps to update databases used by the Radiology Finance Unit.
Staff Management: With guidance of the Division Administrator helps to set goals for staff and to develop their skills. Supervises and helps to evaluate staff for the Radiology Finance Unit. Makes sure that training is done for any new staff and that existing staff are cross-trained.
Meetings: Attends meetings in place of Division Administrator, on an as needed basis.
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. 5+ years of relevant financial analysis or accounting experience. Knowledge of accounting principles, financial forecasting, analysis, and budget development.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Sound understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and a general understanding of the healthcare industry. Experience and competency with varied computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet, database,communications and presentation applications - knowledge of Microsoft Office using the Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Access. Intermediate to expert MS Excel skills are required.Writing skills to compose and edit logical, detailed, comprehensive and grammatically correct correspondence.Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks.Ability to follow assignments through to completion. Exhibits initiative in problem solving and trouble shooting. Skill in communicating with staff and peers with diplomacy and tact.Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management.Ability to handle matters of highly confidential and sensitive nature.Ability to recognize and identify problems, recognize implications and propose alternative solutions.Ability to follow through on assignments with minimal direction.Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner.Ability to work within a team environment as well as working independently with minimal supervision.
MBA. Prior Experience in Healthcare field. Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel. Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Access.
