This position provides the full range of technical and consultative services to faculty and administrators seeking and receiving support for research, education, service, training, and other programs from government agencies, corporations, private foundations, and other funders. This position interacts with representatives of the full range of extramural funding sources (such as federal, state, private, and international) and their prime role is that of facilitatinggrant and contract submissions and ensuring compliance with sponsor and university requirements. This position is focused on the review, verification, and compliance checking of proposal documents routed via the University’s electronic submission system, Cayuse SP/SP424, prior to OSP approval/submission to the external sponsor.
The Grant and Contract Manager reports directly to the Director, Office of Sponsored Programs
The incumbent works alongside three other Grant & Contract Managers, one Pre-Award Grant and Contract Manager, one Senior Grant & Contract Manager, an Electronic Research Administrator, and an Operations and Communications Manager
The Grant and Contract Manager provides, in a collegial and proactive manner, timely and essential assistance to faculty and administrators in securing grants and contracts

Required Education and Experience
Typical majors include business, public administration, and political science
One to three years’ experience in successfully reviewing grant and contract proposals in a university setting
Exhibit special aptitude for critical and analytical thought, project conceptualization and examination of compliance, legal, and research issues
Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and the applicable OMB circular(s) related to grants and contracts, including the Uniform Guidance
Demonstrated ability to maintain collegial and collaborative working relationships with faculty and staff
Ability to relate to faculty member’s projects and research interests on a professional level
Excellent writing skills are important
Customer service orientation and the ability to work in a team setting
