UMKC's Division of External Relations & Constituent Engagement
The Division of External Relations & Constituent Engagement is seeking applications for an experienced and self-motivated Senior Business Support Specialist. The position will oversee the overall management of Ellucian Advance database including data entry, data output and training, serve as the subject matter expert for all data stored in Ellucian Advance, and will be the staff lead for future database considerations. This position will report up to the Vice Chancellor of External Relations and Constituent Engagement. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Oversee the overall management of Advance database including data entry, data output and training.
Manage and supervise data entry processes. Develop procedures to ensure the integrity and security of database information. Ensure good data hygiene by implementing, documenting, and enforcing standard operating procedures for entering and exporting data.
Create and maintain documentation and training manuals for data and processes in Advance
Provide training and support to enhance end-user proficiency, including training of new staff members on using the database.
Approve and track Advance database access and permissions.
Identify data stored outside of Advance and determine feasibility of conversion; establish process, documentation, and coordinate input. Be the liaison between External Relations & Constituent Engagement and other departments to facilitate exchange of data.
Working with pertinent departments, oversee import and export of constituent information from other internal sources.
Collaborate with UM system and UMKC DSAS in testing and implementation of system upgrades/new functionality.
Participate in cross-departmental meetings related to Advance data and representing External Relations & Constituent Engagement. Participate in all decisions affecting data quality and structure. Work with UM System on projects such as degree loads, HR, student load, etc.
Work with DSAS staff and UM System to troubleshoot complex data issues and problems.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Three to five year experience in data management preferred
Demonstrated consulting and project management skills; and ability to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
Detail oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills
The ideal candidate should have an intermediate understanding of information systems and technology
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with others when necessary
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Working knowledge and experience with Ellucian Advance™, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT or comparable databases is a must.
Full Time/Part Time
This position is full time, benefit eligible
$16.92 - $23.80 per hour.
Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm or comparable. Culture of flexibility is supported.
