Job Description Summary Provide insightful, high quality analysis, advice and guidance in a specific area of risk, executing control and tailored to senior stakeholder needs. May lead a team of risk specialists and deputise for more senior colleagues at Grade F
In COO Business Risk we help to deliver the Group's vision by executing day to day risk, control and monitoring related activities, focusing on Operational, Compliance and Conduct Risk. We are a first line of defence control function, responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective control framework, ensuring each business area is measuring, monitoring and controlling risks within their areas of accountability.
A key part of how we keep the Group safe is by embedding a strong risk and control culture across the business. Within COO Business Risk you will engage at a number of levels across a mix of teams to evaluate the inherent and residual risk position of various functions and processes across the Group. You will need to be able to adapt and respond to new risks and heightened regulatory interest in areas such as IT Resilience, Cyber Security, Codes of Conduct etc. as changes are implemented or issues identified.
You will provide insightful, high quality analysis, advice and guidance in a specific area of risk, monitoring control execution, tailored to senior stakeholder needs. You may lead a team of risk specialists on occasion and deputise for more senior colleagues.
Have an established IT technical knowledge and be able to undertake complex reviews/analyses in terms of scale, scope and specialism. Validating any risks in an accurate and fully represented way in the risk landscape.
Recognised by peers as a subject matter expert and a skilled representative for the area.
Prepare and interpret risk management output, with insight and information from multiple sources, making recommendations to support action when delivering inputs to senior stakeholders to support with influencing decisions and behaviours in assigned business areas.
Build trusted and transparent relationships within COO Business Risk, facilitating the identification and proactive management of risks and controls.
Supports the formulation of a forward view of digital technology risk based on future aspiration.
Evaluate controls effectiveness and review key business activities, reviewing results to provide reliable, assessment of risk management and agree management actions with senior IT/business stakeholders to address issues highlighted. Identify and progress opportunities to improve/enhance the delivery of mitigating controls and risk remediation.
Able to deputise for colleagues at grade F.
Attends appropriate risk forums and committees.
A diverse and mixed skillset, with a knowledge and understanding of (including but not limited to):
Suppliers management/governance processes and outsourced 3rd party systems
Management of IT Incidents/Problems/Changes
Experience supporting live service material events
Demonstrates an understanding of LBG and industry standards, controls frameworks (e.g. COBIT), IT technology landscape and key IT risk areas assessing IT control testing outcomes and developing action plan requirements and tracks risk remediation to ensure this is timely, comprehensive and achieves action plan objectives.
Undertakes assigned IT risk reviews with a focus on timely completion and in-depth and insightful assessment to support material risk mitigation and reduction within the business area, ensuring the LBG Risk Management Framework requirements are met.
Maintains own understanding and provides advice and guidance to the business area on internal risk themes, external risk trends and regulatory requirements to support effective business risk management and controls development and implementation.
Advises colleagues of good practice in own area of expertise to promote actions to mitigate and control risks.
Undertake complex IT reviews/analyses in terms of scale, scope and specialism.
Implement or manages the implementation of processes to deliver Group Risk policy, monitoring within business areas, agreeing remediation plans as necessary.
