Anderson University (South Carolina) and the College of Health Professions invite applications for a full-time, nine-month position as Assistant Professor of Kinesiology. The College of Health Professions consists of the School of Human Performance, School of Allied Health, School of Nursing and the School of Physical Therapy. Kinesiology is housed in the School of Human Performance and has 200+ majors with concentrations in Athletic Training, Exercise Specialist, and Pre-Physical Therapy. Kinesiology faculty and students have access to Anderson University’s Human Cadaver and Medical Simulations Lab, in addition to the newly renovated Human Performance and Neuromuscular lab which features two metabolic carts, 3 Monark bikes, a BOD POD, a force platform, wireless electromyography, 2 electrocardiograms, and a wide-array of health and exercise-related equipment. The adjacent lab classroom has been outfitted with Node desks for an ideal teaching and learning environment.
Candidates should be prepared to teach a full range of undergraduate courses within the Kinesiology Department including but not limited to, Exercise Physiology, Motor Development, Exercise Diagnosis and Prescription, Measurement and Evaluation, and Research Methods. Exact courses will vary based on teaching experience and expertise. The teaching load is 24 hours credits per academic year, including advising. A PhD in Kinesiology or Exercise Science is required.
