We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Associate Director, Pricing .
The role holder is accountable for the Asia roll-out and dynamic maintenance of GCMB's framework for product pricing, ensuring customers are treated fairly and an appropriate balance is struck between revenue growth and portfolio profitability. Initial focus will be on the loan product, at a time when it requires transformational change to optimize performance and ensure perfect regulatory compliance
Utilise clear specialist expertise on pricing to help the delivery of the key GCMB strategic imperative to increase profitability. This will require ability to support transformational change in organisational approach.
Given the size of the loan portfolio performance improvements delivered in this area will have a material impact on Asia CMB's performance.
Build key insights on markets, customers, regulatory conditions, transaction flows to guide Regional businesses or Returns Forums proactively on key pricing and portfolio return issues.
Establish and maintain an effective framework to determine appropriate pricing levels for the lending product, working closely with Commercial banking client teams including Global, Regional and In-country teams, COO, ALCM, LAF, CMBO, Risk and Finance.
Working with the GCMB Head of Pricing to implement a framework to ensure that product pricing is optimized, in a fair and compliant manner and that all value loss or 'leakage' is minimized.
Build an effective network of senior stakeholders in countries or segments, providing strategic advice on the development of pricing strategy and priorities for those areas and ensuring that the loan pricing framework is clearly communicated, understood and embedded in those areas.
Work closely with CMB customer segments to support achievement of GCMB return objectives.
Contribute subject matter expertise on product pricing to Regions, Countries, Segments, Risk, Marketing, Finance and other stakeholders, including provision of strategic direction and deep technical knowledge. This will include contributing to Returns Forms, Dealpoint and ORC design and implementation, hurdle setting, tariff setting etc.
Ensure that pricing strategy is effectively cascaded into countries or segments, guiding recipients with specialist insight to deliver change where required.
Operate with minimal supervision and guidance in conditions of potential ambiguity and uncertainty.
Participate as an effective member of the L&TM team, contributing to the development of lending strategy.
Communicate the strategy for the product pricing, defining short-medium-long term plans and priorities.
Develop effective partnerships with executives in all critical business areas, including: WMR and Business Risk, COO, Finance, Capital Management, Regulatory and Financial Crime Compliance, HOST in particular C&L IT and Credit Services, GCMB, Regional CMB and In-country CMB teams.
Ensure an appropriate monitoring and control framework is in place with regard to the pricing of all lending products, including MI covering product performance, key conduct elements, regulatory compliance, and relevant RCAs. This framework shall include mechanisms to capture non-standard pricing. Successful execution of this role will require the ability to drive transformational change in the approach to loan pricing globally innovative solutions to complex issues and the ability to navigate demanding regulatory environments
Ensure compliance with CMB Product Governance policies, all appropriate regulatory regimes, identifying and escalating potential breaches early
Work closely with HOST to ensure no control gaps exist and that loans are priced in accordance with agreed documentation and the relevant regulatory framework
Maintain and observe HSBC control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal and external auditors and regulators
Substantial knowledge and experience in Asia Pacific Commercial Banking
Knowledge of Portfolio Management, and Credit and risk policy
Experience in Digital Innovation, product management and lending product
Ability to think laterally, be innovative and find creative solutions
