You'll be joining the Finance team which facilitates the strategic and financial planning for the Group's General Insurance (GI) business. Linking the business strategy with key initiatives, the team prepares financial scenarios and insight to ensure that decision making is effective, targets are realistic and that profit is sustainable over the longer term.

As the Assistant Manager for Planning & MI, your contribution will be critical to the planning and forecasting process; the outputs of which are used across the Group for regulatory purposes, conducting commercial assessments and for liquidity and capital reporting. You'll also be involved in stress testing, responding to regulatory requests, completing ABI & Flood Re returns, modelling and model validation activity and supporting a variety of projects.
Specific accountabilities also include:
Collaborating with the GI Business and other Finance colleague to enable the build of challenging and credible plans
Modelling income assumptions and scenarios
Producing standard and ad hoc reports and analysis for review by the GI MD, GI Business Partners and other business/ divisional stakeholders
Driving continuous improvement and simplification of the operating plan and forecast processes, whilst ensuring control and governance is maintained
Producing schedules as required for Group and Insurance & Wealth Executive Committees and board purposes
Financial oversight of TM1 planning models and methodology, including supporting the annual validation process
Acting as Finance SME on GI & Finance projects
You'll be a Finance professional, with experience in reporting, modelling and stress testing, which you'll have gained in a large Financial Services organisation. You're adept at analysing complex information and presenting it concisely in both written and verbal format.
You'll relish the opportunity to build on your existing experience, whilst already being familiar with operating plans and you can demonstrate how you've previously contributed to forecasting activity.
Alongside your technical ability, your relationship building and management skills will be at the forefront of your contribution. You have well-honed engagement skills and are able to communicate and influence others. You'll use these skills to present to senior colleagues and be confident in responding to challenges and questions.
