The Information Governance (IG) Senior Retention and Disposition Analyst will assist in the development, review, implementation, and organizing of the Firm’s records retention and disposition platform and schedules. Under the direction of the Information Governance Senior Manager, the IG Senior Analyst will support and manage key aspects regarding the retention and disposition of records, documents, and materials during and at the end of their life cycle. This position will also assist in conducting training as needed.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Support the consistent application of the principles of the Information Governance program and all responsibilities of the retention and disposition platform.
Assist in the creation, review, and implementation of the Firm’s records retention and disposition schedules, including the correctly applied retention period and proper disposal of Firm and legacy records.
Assist in the development, implementation and enforcement of Firm procedures related to the retention and disposition program.
Assist in the research of technical resolutions to ensure that the appropriate technology is being deployed to facilitate the proper digital and physical retention and disposal of all records.
Continuously review and recommend revisions to the Firm’s retention and disposition schedule, as needed, to ensure compliance with relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Assist in strategic planning of the Firm’s retention and disposition of legacy records, project duration, and resource allocation.
Assist in the inventory of quantities of digital and physical records to accurately identify and classify the records in all repositories.
Assist in the review of program effectiveness by setting goals and metrics and evaluating retention and disposition program’s overall performance.
Track, evaluate, and report on specific audits, reporting, and metrics concerning key aspects of the retention and disposition program.
Work closely and proactively with IG Senior Manager to assist the Firm in adhering to the records retention schedule consistently and appropriately.
Special projects and additional duties as assigned.
A minimum of 3+ years of Records and Information Management and/or Information Governance experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and a high degree of proficiency in creating graphs, charts, and pivot tables.
Experience in executing procedures and developing best practice improvements.
Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical and decision making skills.
Ability to adapt to an evolving work environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong written, leadership, communication, organization, team building, resource management and problem solving skills.
