Futures and Options (F&O) manages JPMorgan's global exchange traded futures and options brokerage business. F&Oprovides investors and hedgers access to exchange traded listed derivativesthroughout the world. F&O acts solely as the clients agent on brokeragetransactions, and never as principal. Services include:
Developing trade ideas and portfolio management strategies in derivative markets;
Identifying relative value between and among derivative and cash instruments;
Quantifying the risks and profit opportunities of trades involving futures and options;
Executing client trades for fixed income, money market, foreign exchange, commodity and equity-related futures and options on exchanges worldwide;
Clearing and settling futures and options transactions;
Posting the margins required by exchanges, using cash or securities in ways most convenient to the client ; and
Providing operational information about clients transactions in flexible and responsive electronic or paper format.
The Exchange Clearing group's primary responsibility is toprovide an effective reconciliation and settlement service of exchange tradedderivative products to both internal and external clients of JP Morgan. JPMorgan is a clearing member on over 60 Futures & Options exchangesglobally.
This role is focused upon derivative products. These include Fixed IncomeSecurities, Equities, FX & Oil, Gas, Metals, Metals and Agriculturalproducts. It is helpful that the candidate has some knowledge of the majorityof these markets. The Singapore Regional Operations Centre (ROC) will be JPMorgan's preferred hub for a wide range of operational support for our listedderivatives business.
Summary of Responsibilities
He/she has some knowledge of the products and the exchange rules covered by the team and is aware of the functions of the global business
Regional Exchange Clearing is performed in accordance with local regulatory requirements
All positions are maintained accurately both at the exchange and within the internal clearing system
All trade and position breaks are escalated and resolved on trade date + 1
All exercise and assignment notices are correctly processed as per the published deadlines
He/she should be aware of the appropriate escalation procedures when issues are raised
He/she reviews and checks production output from a control aspect
Processes are reviewed regularly and where possible make suggestions for greater efficiency
All procedures are kept up to date and easily accessible
Any ad hoc requests of the team are dealt with in an appropriate manner
Skills and Qualifications
F&O Knowledge (preferably of Asia markets knowledge would be an added advantage)
Ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately, whilst remaining focused on 'the big picture'
Excellent Client focus and Customer care working practices
Flexible attitude towards working hours due to the demands of the working place
Strong intellectual curiosity for process improvements
