J.P. Morgan's Custody & Fund Services is a premier fund accounting and administration provider that helps investment management companies, pension funds, sovereign funds, etc. with full service offering covering accounting, valuations, portfolio analytics and NAV dissemination. The Custody & Fund Services (CFS) Technology Group is responsible for the alignment of J.P. Morgan technology strategic roadmap to that of our key clients in Asia. We are currently seeking an experienced Application Development Lead for our RAD team to lead and build out a team based in Hong Kong.
The successful candidate will be responsible for DevOps function core fund accounting platform for APAC region - includes but not limited to coordinating, requirements gathering, deploying software solution and Infrastructure support for the platform. The role will be co-located with the business and operations in Hong Kong and will be accountable as the single point of contact for core fund accounting platform for APAC region and act as gateway to Application development team for the region.
This person should be SME on Fund accounting platform (FIS-InvestOne) and hands-on in mainframe technologies with a proven track record for supporting mission critical production platforms that include a mix of software vendor applications and in-house built systems. The successful candidate must be able to steer, partner and influence across various CFS groups on proactive basis for local business requirements. The person should be efficient, self-motivated and take part in improvement initiatives for the platform and firm wide initiatives for the region.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
Work closely with business and operations and understand local needs and requirements and co-ordinate with offshore/global application development team/s for implementing the same
Work with the Application development teams to deploy software releases into Production environment by coordinating with Infrastructure teams
Tune batch cycles to support extended online availability requirements and meeting client SLA's
Contribute to automation and increase efficiencies of operations and operate. Also maintain knowledge base of local defects, issues, processes and works towards stabilization and improvement of the platform
Work with production management team and help them with trouble-shooting and resolving production outages
Implement monitoring of the production environment, investigate root cause analysis and take corrective actions as required
Responsible for Audit, Risk, Control Self-Assessment and remediate any gaps
Represent APAC region in global meeting/s and navigate, communicate and steer APAC requirements
Build and lead a team of technologists and responsible for stakeholder management
Qualifications and Demonstrated Experience
The ideal candidate possess a proven combination of strategic, analytical and IT management skills with a key focus in the fund services business domain. The candidate must have superior software engineering skills coupled with IT management and relationship building skills. Additional qualifications include:
Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or relevant Degree;
Minimum 12 years of system development experience;
SME on Fund accounting platform (FIS-InvestOne)
Experience in mainframe technologies like Cobol, JCL & CICS, VSAM & DB2
Strong stakeholder and team management experience
Hands on lead, who can drive change, influence and lead across business and technology;
Strong end to end ownership, governance, controls, risks and dependency management;
Excellent written and oral communications skills
