Virginia State University (VSU) is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Sociology & Criminal Justice, beginning FALL 2019. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will teach a full academic load (12 hours per semester); the specific focus for this position is the ability to teach research methods and/or statistics at both the undergraduate and graduate level; will have the duty to comply with the Universityâs regulations and rules governing teaching, research, and service; will conduct relevant research in the discipline; will advise students; will recruit and retain students; will serve on university, departmental, and school committees; will promote the Department at campus and community events; and other duties assigned by the Department Chairperson.
