Towson University is accepting applications for a Business Development Associate. This position showcases and promotes Continuing and Professional Studies (CPS) courses throughout the region. Positions CPS as a leading higher education partner that can offer tailored learning solutions to individual students, businesses, government organizations, military, and non-profit organizations in Maryland, DC, VA, DE & PA. Helps to develop, grow, maintain and expand student and customer relationships to promote growth within all CPS market sectors. Under the supervision of the Senior Business Development Manager, the Business Development Associate will meet or exceed enrollment goals set for scheduled courses both in-class and online based on targets.
Implementation of the CPS Business Development Cycle
Actively participates in the business development cycle from prospecting to contract/enrollment. Generate new leads through prospecting activities including but not limited to: phone calls, in-person meetings, social media connections, email, and education events and job fairs focused on generating prospects.
Coordinate Corporate Accounts
Proactively respond to and interact with strategic targeted business, government, and non-profit accounts to drive enrollment goals on a monthly basis. Develop and present education solutions to meet specific needs of corporate clients. Utilize creative problem-solving skills to tailor CPS programs to address education and training needs of corporate clients.
Prepares weekly and monthly reports to plan, develop and execute goals. Uses CRM to pull reports on both prospects and qualified leads in addition to any other reporting requested by leadership. Maintains client records in CRM (Salesforce) which includes entering client data, and entering updated information.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree; four years minimum sales experience preferably in higher education but will also accept experience selling services. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Customer Relationship Management software, SalesForce is preferred. Having strong personal, organization and business networking skills is required.
A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Competitive salary and an annually renewable contract with subsidized benefits. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage. The position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
