Job Summary The Hong lab works on the molecular, synaptic, and circuit mechanisms governing odor-driven behaviors in insects. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and independent individual to work on projects focused on the evolution of odorant receptors and olfactory preference. Methods include molecular genetics, genome engineering, neuroanatomy, functional imaging, and single-cell transcriptional analysis. The successful candidate should be highly motivated to pursue an independent scientific project, and value working in a dynamic, diverse, and team-based research environment.
Job Duties - Designing and executing wet bench experiments independently - Clear documentation of experimental methods and results - Clear written and oral communication of results - Basic care and maintenance of laboratory resources and equipment
Basic Qualifications - B.A. or B.S. in biology, neuroscience, or related fields - Ability to manage and troubleshoot projects independently - Good written & oral communication skills in English, including the careful maintenance of experimental records
Preferred Qualifications - Proven record of productivity, as evidenced by references and/or peer-reviewed publication - Experience with molecular biology
