Belmont University’s Department of Athletics is currently accepting applications for a part-time Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. Under the supervision of the Head Women’s Soccer Coach, the successful candidate will assist with coaching duties for the University’s NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer program in such a manner as to build and maintain a competitive, quality program that reflects positively on the image and reputation of the University at all times. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices and training; assisting with recruiting efforts; assisting with various operational and administrative aspects of the program, such as coordinating team travel, managing the team account for the department’s communication platform, scheduling and coordinating community service events, assisting with institutional camps, social media management, etc.; and, knowing and abiding by all NCAA, Ohio Valley Conference, and University rules and regulations. The position is part-time and does not include benefits.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. The ideal candidate will have experience playing and/or coaching highly competitive soccer, preferably at the NCAA Division 1 level. Additional requirements include: the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; strong organization and administrative skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, primarily Word and Excel; the ability to build relationships and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment of student-athletes, as well as athletic recruit methods and techniques; ability to lead and guide Division I student-athletes in area of coaching specialty to include identifying deficiencies and providing instruction to improve overall skills and performance. The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check and motor vehicle report satisfactory to the University.
