The Togus VA Medical Center located in Augusta, Maine is seeking a BC/BE Hospice/Palliative Care Physician to join their dynamic healthcare team as the Hospice and Palliative Care (H&PC) Medical Director.
The Hospice and Palliative Care (H&PC) Medical Director is the clinical leader for the H&PC program at Togus VA which includes an integrated inpatient and outpatient program. The Medical Director works closely with the Palliative Care Team consisting of Nurse Practitioner, Hospice Unit Nurse Manager, RN Coordinator, Social Worker and Chaplain to provide:
Care of patients in a state of the art 12-bed hospice and palliative care unit
This position will include a faculty role as Site Director for the Maine Medical Center (MMC) Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program, to date in its 4th year. VA Maine provides Hospice and Palliative Medicine training opportunities in collaboration with MMC across the continuum of care settings. MMC, VA Maine’s academic affiliate, supports a full complement of residencies and fellowships, approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and is an integral part of the Tufts University Medical School Undergraduate medical education curriculum.
