JOB SUMMARY: Counseling4Kids seeks a Clinical Manager, MAT and Birth to Five to join our professional team in Torrance. Counseling4Kids is a county contracted mental health agency serving foster children and youth with outpatient mental health services and multidisciplinary assessment. This position will provide clinical consultation to our licensed therapists and MAT assessors. Our Torrance MAT Program serves areas 6 and 8. We have a “clinic without walls” model, and our therapists provide in-home services throughout Service Area 8. We treat clients with the Evidence Based Practices of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, MAP, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Seeking Safety, Triple P, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. We are increasing our services in Birth to Five and recently added Infant Massage. We are seeking a team player, a strong and professional clinician/manager with a solid grasp of LAC DMH documentation and a commitment to quality mental health assessment and treatment for children and youth. Must be capable of providing consultation for TF-CBT, our primary EBP.
The Clinical Manager, MAT and Birth to Five is responsible to the Program Director, MAT and Birth to Five Services, for implementing and maintaining all clinical operations in line with stated policies and procedures of C4K. The Clinical Manager, MAT and Birth to Five will engage in multiple and various tasks encompassing the core areas of management/leadership, program development, and quality assurance. The Clinical Manager, MAT and Birth to Five shall also perform administrative and clinical duties.

Licensed LMFT, LCSW or Ph.D./Psy.D.
Experience with MAT (Multidisciplinary Assessment Team); LA County Department of Mental Health in collaboration with the Department of Children and Family Services.
Minimum of 4 years of counseling experience with children and families/community mental health.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with foster or SED children.
Minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience.
Knowledge of LA Co DMH documentation and Medi-Cal procedures.
Training/experience in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Infant Massage, and Birth to Five expertise strongly preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Counseling4Kids is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that provides effective mental health services to abused and neglected children and youth in the foster care system throughout Los Angeles County, as possible. Over 75 licensed therapists provide in-home therapy to over 1,600 children per year. Our services are funded by the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health.
Goal: To provide mental health services to children in Los Angeles County’s foster care system.
Reason: There had been a scarcity of mental health providers treating children who were in need of healing from the abuse and neglect they had suffered. Initially, Counseling4Kids treatment programs worked with 8 therapists providing services for 25 clients.
Today: Counseling4Kids therapists provide weekly in-home therapy sessions to children from ages 3-18, many of whom have experienced extreme trauma from severe abuse and neglect and exhibit symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Our range of services include: individual therapy, family therapy, psychological evaluation, medication support, case management and referral to community resources.
