Description The front desk staff is a respected, vital member of a team,providing a wide and varied range of administrative and organizational support to the Disability Resource Center (DRC) team whileserving students with disabilities to meet their educational goals. This position is integral to the success of theDRCand serves as the initial,vitalpoint of contactfor students beginning theirregistrationprocessto become students who qualify for DRC services.
The Front Desk Staff works with a variety of campus partners to ensurethe smooth operation of the DRC, including facilities, Information Technology Services, various academic departments, and the larger Student Affairs Division. As such, this positionwillmaintain a leadership role on campus regarding working with students with disabilities, accessibility, and Universal Design. This position is responsible for high quality interactions with clear and consistent communications, and legal compliance with ADA accommodations with emphasis on assessment measures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES
Oversee the reception ofstudentsandparents, staff, and facultyatthe frontdesk Disseminateaccurate and up-to-date departmentaland college information; maintain DRC student files,andarchivingold records according to BC policy. Perform initial evaluation ofdocumentation for pending studentsto determine eligibility; facilitate request for additional documentation if required. Schedulea high volume ofappointmentsand meetingsforDRC teammembers; manage complex calendars for multiple staff. Assist in scheduling and planning for events such as meetings, conferences, and presentations. Maintain confidentiality of all student information in accordance with FERPAlaw and DRC standards. Assist in handlingdifficult student situations, multi-task andchecking out processof equipment; supportotherDRCteam members. Participate in the development of final documents and procedures by the DRC. Order supplies for the DRC, restock DRC forms and materials as required. Coordinate withCampus Operationsthe movement and placement of alternative furniture for accommodations. Coordinate scribe/readers and Notetakers for accommodations. RepresenttheDRCon campus and in the community, participating in outreach and educational programs, campus governance activities. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation or equivalent Two yearof full time clerical or front desk experience Experience working with studentsor personswith disabilities Observation and situational awareness skills, ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations Critical thinking andproblem solvingskills Previous experience working in an office/reception desk setting Effective communication skills andability to work with diverse populations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree Experience working in a college setting Experience working with diverse populations other than students with disabilities Intermediate to advanced skills inOutlook,Excel, Word anddatabase Office management skillsincluding the coordination of complex schedules Event management experience
