Virginia Military Institute is accepting applications for an Enrollment Services Specialist in the Financial Aid Office. The Enrollment Services Specialist will report directly to the Director of Financial Aid and occasionally receive direction from the VMI Chief of Staff. The Enrollment Services Specialist is a member of the Financial Aid staff who performs day-to-day activities of a professional financial aid administrator and provides lead support for the oversight of the Federal Pell Grant program, Veterans Affairs (VA) Education Benefits programs, and Dept. of Defense (DOD) Education Benefits programs. This position assumes the role of School Certifying Official (SCO) for VA and DOD Educational Benefits programs. Key Responsibilities: â¢Assume the role of School Certifying Official (SCO) for VA and DOD Educational Benefits programs. â¢Provide direct oversight of Pell Grant program, VA, and DOD Educational Benefits programs, to include, reconciliation of funds, enrollment reporting, audit preparation, and other functions as determined by the Director of Financial Aid. â¢Process applications for VA-DOD benefits. Track eligible student applications for instate benefits and maintain accurate records. Post VA and DOD awards amounts. â¢Work with other departments to reconcile financial aid information (Student Accounting, Athletic Dept., ROTC, etc.) â¢Counsel students and parents on financial aid process. Provide accurate information in a courteous and professional manner. â¢Respond to requests from Students, Parents and VMI Departments for Financial Aid information. â¢Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Director of Financial Aid.
