We are looking for a Tax Director to work at our Corporate office in Brentwood, TN ! It’s hard to pinpoint a “typical” day here (and who wants typical anyway?), but in summary , the tax director has the primary responsibility for oversight of all tax matters for the Company, including corporate entities, the risk retention group, and the managed professional corporations. This position leads the determination of tax compliance requirements and ensures that those requirements are met and develops and communicates the Company’s tax planning strategy to key stakeholders throughout the Company. What You’ll Do for Us: Responsible for Income Tax Provision: Leads a team of tax professionals responsible for preparing/filing quarterly and annual tax provisions, tax-related footnote disclosures, and return to provision calculation Monitors legislation for tax law changes Responsible for ASC 740, uncertain tax positions Responsible for Income Tax Compliance: Oversees the calculation and preparation of extensions and quarterly estimates Represents Company through Federal and State audits, and reviews and approves settlements of tax audits Ensure all law changes are reflected on the tax returns Responsible for Tax Strategy: Develops overall tax strategy for the Company Designs and implements tax strategies to minimize cash tax obligations Prepares forecasts of cash taxes Ensures Company is taking advantage of all available tax credits Monitors and researches legislation to ensure Company is filing in the most tax efficient manner in each taxing jurisdiction Maintains the corporate legal entity organizational chart and suggests changes to the legal entity structure in order to simplify the structure Responsible for reviewing contracts for purchased and leased equipment to ensure the contracts minimize income tax, sales tax and personal property tax exposures Responsible for Sales, Property and Other Taxes: Responsible for managing the proper administration and processing of sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and professional corporation tax returns for Company and its subsidiaries in accordance with government law and regulations Other Responsibilities: Assists in due diligence on asset acquisitions and stock acquisitions and notes any exceptions from a federal and state income tax perspective. Educates staff on legislative/compliance/regulatory issues impacting their department. Responsible for preparation and adherence to department’s annual expense budget Establishes and maintains tax policies and procedures Manages employee performance by counseling, disciplining and appraising job results Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience required Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required a plus Experience: Minimum of 10 years tax accounting experience “5+ years of managerial experience” Healthcare experience preferred Previous management experience required Familiarity with professional corporations preferred Knowledge and Skills: Ability to effectively manage a team Ability to communicate complex and significant tax matters to senior management Ability to manage multiple deadlines and time constraints Strong leadership and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Proficiency in Thomson Reuters Onesource a plus What We’ll Do for You: At Premise Health, you’re not an employee – you’re a team member.
