Located in Framingham MA, the Walden School at The Learning Center for the Deaf is a therapeutic residential school that provides comprehensive treatment for deaf adolescents with complex trauma or have difficulty managing their emotions safely.
Our mission is to provide continuity of care across a variety of milieus while supporting students with developing skills to have success in the greater community.
Our team of dynamic and passionate clinicians provide a variety of clinical services to those on their caseload, including but not limited to: individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, case management, and assessment.
Additionally, clinicians are responsible for maintaining positive relationships with outside agencies, families, collaterals, and consulting psychiatrists. The clinician serves as an integral member of a student’s treatment team and works interdepartmentally to determine individualized recommendations for each student and implement those within the milieu.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and advocacy skills, flexibility, and ability to work as part of a team; additionally, there is a strong emphasis placed on non-traditional, more holistic approaches to therapy, and so the ideal candidate will bring creativity and passion to their clinical work.

• Master’s Degree and MA license-eligible in either Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy required
• Experience working with adolescents and their families in the mental health field
• Experience working in a residential setting preferred
• A minimum of conversational fluency in American Sign Language required, with native, or near-native ASL fluency preferred
• Able to work collaboratively across a multi-disciplinary team
• Knowledge of, experience with, and belief in Trauma informed treatment a must
