Grace College invites applications and nominations for the position of assistant or associate professor in Visual Communication Design with emphasis in Visual Media Arts, Multimedia Design, and Digital Imagery/Photography. Responsibilities include teaching, advising, scholarly activity, department service, and professional development.

The candidate will be expected to lead the Media Arts program, teach courses in media arts, multimedia design, motion graphics, media production, digital imagery/photography and videography throughout the academic year, as well as advise students. The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to liberal arts undergraduate education. Also, the candidate will be expected to develop course content applicable for students to gain real-world experiences.
Qualifications: This position offers a challenging opportunity to a faculty member with professional, academic and research experience who seeks to collaboratively grow the Media Arts program within the integrated environment of Visual, Performing, and Media Arts. The successful candidate will have:
An MFA or PhD in Visual Communication Design, Media Arts, Multimedia Design, or applicable Visual Imagery specialty
Knowledge of contemporary techniques, theory, and best practices of digital visual communication design for developing visual narratives in a variety of platforms including interactive media, motion graphics, media production, digital imagery/photography, and videography.
Evidence of excellence in creating innovative and original visual resolutions in areas that address cultural and social contexts, social impact design, and contemporary visual culture.
One-year teaching experience at college level with experience as practicing, professional artist, or educator.
A passion for teaching students to pursue excellence in a constantly changing technological environment and a commitment to cultivating an innovative visual media arts environment that addresses contemporary global issues.
Proficiency in designing/developing digital visual imagery through integrating multi-disciplinary protocols, such as history, business, social sciences, or performing arts, etc.
