This position will be an integral part of the Merit team.
The Cyber Range Game Developer will work under the Director of Cyber Range Development on the Michigan Cyber Range (MCR) team to provide support to the development team. This team is responsible for the creation and development of products which are used for training in the area of cyber security; as well as the planning and execution of MCR events and exercises.

WHAT YOU'LL DO *
Essential functions for this position are followed be an (E). As the Cyber Range Game Developer, this position’s key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Further developing and maintaining the Unity 3D environment used by the MCR o Car mechanics improvement o External virtual machines integration o Embedded Linux console o Further development of the virtual city of Alphaville o Other new visual content • Collaborate with development team in problem solving sessions • Assist development team in software creation and/or implementation • Assist with the planning and execution of MCR events and exercises • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS YOU HAVE *
Desired Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Game Development, Computer Science, or other related field • Product development experience in the professional world • Experience working with databases such as mongo dB and MySQL • Experience writing software in C/C++, Python, PHP, or other languages • Experience working with higher education, K-12 educational institutions, libraries, research institutions, governmental organizations, and other public sector non-profit organizations a plus.
WORK SCHEDULE *
This is a part-time temporary position expected to work through the summer (May – August 2019). Work schedule will be determined by supervisor and may change if necessary. There may be some occasional work required outside of established schedule. Typical work schedule falls in the normal working schedule for full-time Merit staff which is generally 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday.
