Reporting to the Academic Director. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of RICSI, from fundraising, to day-to-day administration, to event management, to strategic planning. The Executive Director makes decisions about revenue streams, staffing, budget management, communications and marketing, branding, keynote speakers, conference and event organization, and the recruitment of business leaders to advisory boards. Duties include but are not limited to the following: -Leadership and day-to-day administration of the various functions of RICSI. -Collaborate with faculty directors to establish and implement vision and direction -Represent and promote RICSI to internal and external audiences across various media -Raise endowment and operating capital adequate to sustain ongoing operations -Maintain international networks with business, academic, and government leaders -Plan and implement workshops, conferences, and other public events -Co-teach and guest lecture in coursework related to social innovation For more information please visit: http://www.business.rutgers.edu/ricsi
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a master's degree (or equivalent) plus a minimum of three years of experience in a position of senior leadership in a higher education, nonprofit, or for-profit institution with increasing responsibility for strategic planning, staff development, and program development.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This position requires proven leadership capacity, significant fundraising abilities, and advanced organizational and interpersonal skills. The Executive Director must coordinate complex internal relationships with faculty, staff, students, and administrators, as well as complex external relationships with senior business, nonprofit, and government leaders, grantmakers, philanthropists, and the media.
Microsoft Office Suite, standard PC systems, and Rutgers proprietary systems such as Cornerstone.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be willing and physically capable of traveling between campuses routinely for administration, meetings, and events, and on a regular basis across the state, country, and occasionally internationally for meetings, events, and fundraising.
