Under general supervision, manages operations of the Waco Convention Center for the Convention Center and Convention & Visitors Bureau (CC/CVB).

Manages Waco Convention Center functions and operations, including staff work schedules, maintenance, cleaning, setup and teardowns, budgets, purchasing.
Works in partnership with Sales/Events Services and Catering regarding venue scheduling, bookings and summary reports; works with clients and CC/CVB staff to plan events; prepares physical plans and floor plans for
Oversees Data, Account and Event Management in Ungerboeck operating software system.
Manages and trains assigned staff; plans and manages work activities; plans, prioritizes and assigns tasks and projects; monitors work, develops staff skills and evaluates
Supports the relationship between the City of Waco and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work- related issues and City information; performs other duties as required or
May be required to respond afterhours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City wide
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
City policies and
State and Federal laws governing the conduct and safety of public
Principles and practices for planning and managing convention facilities and
Ungerboeck Operating Management System a plus.
Business and personal computers and specialized software
Supervising and coordinating municipal facility programs and event
Analyzing problems, resolving disputes and conflicts and developing effective
Managing staff, delegating tasks and authority and coaching to improve staff
Dealing tactfully and courteously with customers and providing effective and friendly customer
Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and
Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Associate's Degree in Business or Public Administration, or related field is required; AND four years’ experience in public facility planning and management programs; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
