An Account Executive is the main point of contact for an association. It is likely that this position will serve as Executive Director/Chief Staff Officer of more than one association under the direction of a board of directors as defined in the associations governance documents. The Account Executive is responsible for the effective conduct of the affairs of the association and assists the officers and the board leaders in achieving the association's mission, goals, and objectives. In frequent consultation with the association President, the Account Executive coordinates the association’s programs and activities and takes responsibility for fiscal management and staffing needs utilizing Arden Solutions staff resources. Arden Solutions has administrative, meeting planning and fiscal staff resources that support the represented association, and those positions are shared among several association clients of the AMC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Account Executive is the official point of contact for the association and is responsible for the overall administration of its activities.
Governance and Legal Compliance
Assure that Association has proper governing and legal documents
Responsible for association operating in compliance with applicable laws and regulations (State and Federal laws, Articles and bylaws, etc.)
Follows Arden Solution’s best practices with respect to articles of incorporation, annual incorporation filings, and Bylaw compliance.
Effectively lead Board and Committee structures that align with an organization’s strategic plan
Oversee creation and consistent delivery of Board orientations and a consistent Board self-assessment process
Maintain a nomination and election process that aligns with the strategic goals and focus of the organization
Execute and maintain required volunteer governance forms (confidentiality, conflict of interest, etc.)
Create and maintain relevant privacy and other policies
Risk Management and Insurance Coverage
Ensures that assigned organization has appropriate coverage for all programs and performs a regular review to confirm that it is maintained
Oversees proper filings related to copyrights and/or trademarks in order to properly protect assigned organization’s intellectual property
Develop, present and manage the organization within an annual budget
Oversee effective financial reporting, proactively alert Board to any significant variances
Create and maintain an investment policy statement and all related reporting
Oversee an annual review or audit by an outside accounting firm as required by association guidelines
Direct all events, conferences, and other education offered by the association
Maintain an understanding of market segments and stakeholders
Work with Volunteer leaders to document membership trends
Facilitate membership surveys as needed to maintain an understanding of member experiences and identify opportunities for new products and/or services to add value to members
Marketing, Image, Brand Management
Create and implement an annual marketing calendar
Create and maintain documented policies related to use of logo
Oversee adequate PR and Media training for Volunteer Leaders
Social marketing savvy

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/REQUIRED PROFICIENCIES
Bachelor’s degree required or a minimum of ten years association management related experience; CAE and Master’s degree preferred. We work with academic societies thus a doctoral degree is highly preferred.
