In collaboration with the Director of Development in Bouve College of Health Sciences, this individual is responsible for identifying, cultivating and soliciting gifts to support the funding priorities within the Bouve College of Health Sciences. The Senior Development Officer will work to achieve a high level of engagement and financial support from among a cadre of alumni, friends, parents and institutions whose philanthropic priorities match with education and research programs in the College or University. May interact with members of the University governing boards and unit advisory boards. College Deans set the academic priorities for the College and establish the case for support for the College. The Senior Development Officer is responsible for implementing the College's fundraising efforts and for assisting the Dean in achieving the College's fundraising goals.
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes and qualifications: 8-10 years professional experience, with at least 5 years demonstrated experience in soliciting major gifts in support of a non-profit institution, or relevant sales experience. A proven track record in successfully soliciting gifts and daily management of fundraising activities. Superior communication skills – the ability to understand and convey University programs, priorities and issues to a wide variety of audiences. Experience working in a health sciences related field is a plus, but not mandatory. Excellent writing and proofreading skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the Bouve College of Health Sciences and Northeastern University Development team. An appreciation and understanding of the mission of Northeastern University; demonstrated commitment to and experience in higher education. Overnight travel and some evening and weekend work required. BA/BS degree required; Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred. An affirming, positive, motivational, entrepreneurial style. Strong personal work ethic, self-motivated and results-oriented.

The Arnold S. Goldstein Simulation Laboratories Suite provides a state-of-the-art simulation center for interprofessional education.
