Coordinate opportunities and services for members of the Denison family in order to broaden and deepen their relationship with the college, to increase public awareness of Denison's mission, achievements and priorities, and to help maximize philanthropic support for institutional priorities. Direct, develop, coordinate, promote, maintain and evaluate constituent engagement strategies, focusing primarily on regional events and affinity reunion programming.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide the creative energy, logistical support, and volunteer-management abilities necessary to produce engagement opportunities around the country, on campus, and online in order to enhance awareness of Denison's accomplishments, create proud and informed advocates for the college, and encourage philanthropic support. Strategies include regional gatherings of the Denison family.
Provide logistical support for alumni and family gatherings and events coordinated out of the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration and the Department of Athletics.
Strengthen the affinity reunion program, deepening existing ties to shared interest groups and organizations.
Utilize Eventbrite and other platforms to maximize opportunities for alumni engagement, which includes content management, event registration, email marketing and surveys.
Participate actively in the planning and implementation of major multi-day events on campus (e.g., Reunion Weekend, Big Red Weekend, volunteer leadership weekends, affinity reunions, etc.)
Amplify The Office of Alumni and Family Engagement’s reach and enhance working relationships with other offices on campus.
Track appropriate metrics and provide on-going reports associated with regional and affinity events.
Serve, when appropriate, on University governance committees unrelated to Alumni Relations work.
Provide supervision to student staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree. A minimum three years of professional experience in a higher education setting (alumni/parent relations, development, admissions, student life) or demonstrated transferable work experience. Must have experience in event planning and volunteer management. Ability to think strategically and to utilize metrics in analyzing impact of programs and events.
Can-do spirit, positive outlook, and belief in the fundamental value of a liberal arts education. Evidence of achievement in a team culture. Must have flexibility to travel and work an unconventional schedule including evenings/weekends. Excellent verbal, written communications, effective interpersonal and social skills, and have strong ability to connect with a variety of diverse constituents. Must have a high competency with electronic technology (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, online social networking sites including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn).
Possess a high level of fiscal responsibility.
Must have a current, valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Denison’s liability insurance policy.
Masters Degree in higher ed.
Pay/Salary: Competitive based on qualifications. Expected salary range will be discussed with candidates selected for screening interviews.
