Associate/ Full Professor (Tenure/Tenure Track)- School of Nursing - (190000HA)
The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is currently recruiting for a full-time, tenure track or tenured associate professor or tenured professor.
UMSON enrolls more than 1,800 students in its baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral programs. It is ranked 8th in the nation for master's programs and 5th in the nation for Doctor of Nursing Practice programs by U.S. News & World Report. UMSON is ranked 20th in funding for nursing schools from the National Institutes of Health. UMSON is part of the University of Maryland, Baltimore graduate professional campus that also includes the schools of medicine, dentistry, law, pharmacy, and social work. Its interdisciplinary graduate school has more than 40 programs in the biosciences, law, and social work, and is one of the fastest growing biomedical research centers in the nation. The unique composition of the campus enables health professionals to address clinical care, public policy, and social issues through multidisciplinary research, scholarship, and community action. Its location in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C.-Annapolis triangle maximizes opportunities for collaboration with government agencies, health care institutions, and life science industries.
We seek a faculty member with research interests that align with those of members of our organized research centers (ORCs) and who will collaborate with members of these centers: UMSON ORC: Biology and Behavior Across the Lifespan (https://www.nursing.umaryland.edu/bbal/), UMSON ORC: Center for Health Outcomes Research (https://www.nursing.umaryland.edu/chor/),UMB ORC: Center to Advance Chronic Pain Research (http://www.umaryland.edu/cacpr/).
Teach in UMSON's undergraduate and graduate programs
Engage in a program of research, including securing external funding to support research
Participate in a program of scholarship and contribute to faculty governance
Advise and mentor students
Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field
Current license to practice nursing, eligible for licensure in Maryland
Evidence of scholarly achievement, including research funding, data-based publications, and national/international professional presentations
Prior academic experience preferred
