The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is currently recruiting for full-time tenure track Assistant Professor who has a promising program of research that aligns with one of our organized research centers (ORCs) and a desire to teach undergraduate and/or graduate nursing students.
Specific areas of research sought are 1) cancer, 2) gerontology, 3) stress psychophysiology/behavior, and/or 4) health promotion, community/public health.
UMSON enrolls more than 1,900 students in its baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral programs. It is ranked 8th in funding for public nursing schools from the National Institutes of Health. UMSON is part of the University of Maryland, graduate professional campus that also includes the schools of medicine, dentistry, law, pharmacy, and social work. Its interdisciplinary graduate school has more than 40 programs in the biosciences, law, and social work, and is one of the fastest growing biomedical research centers in the nation. The unique composition of the campus enables health professionals to address clinical care, public policy, and social issues through multidisciplinary research, scholarship, and community action. Engage in a program of research, including securing external funding to support research
Teach in UMSON's undergraduate and graduate programs

Required Education and Experience:
Earned research doctorate in nursing or a related field,
Evidence of scholarly achievement, including research funding, data-based publications, and national/international professional presentations
Post-doctoral fellowship/research preferred
Prior academic experience preferred
Nurses preferred but others may apply
Current license to practice nursing, eligible for licensure in Maryland, if applicable
