Assistant Director Of Federal Government Relations
Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Community & Government Relations, the assistant director, with latitude for independent judgment and initiative, serves as a liaison between the campus, members of Congress, their staffs, executive branch agencies, and other federal organizations. S/he maintains open communication in support of UCI's research, education and public service activities in an effort to increase federal funding for the campus and to expand awareness of UCI locally and in Washington, D.C. Provides support and service both to the campus and to the University of California Office of the President.
Works with legislators who represent a Southern California district; serve on committees whose decisions are critical to higher education and research; represent constituents who work, learn and benefit from the University's presence; or count themselves among its alumni.
