The School of Applied Health Sciences and Wellness at Ohio University invites applications for a full time, one-year instructor, 9-month VISITINGASSISTANTPROFESSOR position in the Division of Food and Nutrition Sciences beginning August 15, 2019.
The division has a graduate program and four areas of emphasis for undergraduate majors: Dietetics, Culinary Nutrition, Environmental Nutrition, and Pre-Professional Nutrition. We welcome candidates who can contribute to these areas in any combination, and especially welcome candidates with the expertise to prepare and teach upper-level undergraduate or graduate courses in Nutrient Metabolism, Lifespan Nutrition, Medical Nutrition Therapy, and/or Research Methods, and other nutrition courses as required. The teaching duties will be 2-3 courses per semester.
The candidate also will be responsible for leadership in the development, implementation, marketing, and recruitment of students for our online M.S. in Food and Nutrition Sciences, the first cohort of which will be enrolled in fall 2020. Upon successful recruitment of a cohort of students into the online M.S. in Food and Nutrition Sciences, this position has the potential to transition into a regular instructional faculty appointment for academic year 2020-21.
The candidate may also have a role in governance of the department (committee work). Demonstrated success as an instructor of record, especially in online courses, is valued.
A.Ph.D. in nutrition or related field or be ABD with reasonable assurance that the degree will be awarded by the start date.
Though not required, the R.D.N credential is strongly preferred.
