Job Summary The OE Specialist reports to the Sr. OE Specialist within University IT (UIT), specifically within the Office of the CIO (OCIO). This role serves as a liaison and advisor to UIT leadership, as well as facilitates and leads initiatives across UIT and potentially across Stanford IT. The incumbent plans, develops, implements, and administers OCIO and OE-related programs and associated projects to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives.
In support of OCIO priorities, completes strategic planning and analysis activities, including identifying and incorporating best practices and lessons learned, for complex functions or programs with significant challenges requiring OE- and talent development-subject matter expertise. May provide development of program or function from initial concept to implementation.
Consults/advises on policies and processes that update and support consistency across UIT in support of the one UIT strategic value; for example, may draft statements related to:
computer/cell phone equipment standards
Provides data analysis to support employee-related initiatives (e.g., on employee engagement survey data)
Manages the administration and evaluation of programs or functions, which includes partnering on strategic planning and implementation of UIT and IT@Stanford related programs; examples may include:
Managing visits of external delegates
ITLP/STLP program administration
Elements of the IT Governance program
Manages the strategic planning, implementation, and operationalization of organization effectiveness (refer to OE Roadmap) and diversity/inclusion/equity/access programs, in partnership with others in UIT OE and HR, including programs in IDEAL IT, such as Stanford WIT; may also include:
Employee-focused OE activities (e.g., employee survey action plan development tracking and periodic reviews)
360 assessment process
Partners (often with other individuals and groups including BAHR) to design, develop, and deliver OE curricula for managers and employees that include engaging learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides, and facilitator guides/lesson plans, etc. Specific curriculum opportunities include:
Manager Competency Development curriculum (initial modules in giving/receiving feedback; career mobility/growth/advancement)
Unbiasing curriculum (intersection of IDEAL IT Foundations and Stanford WIT Training Committee; partnership with UIT HR/BAHR; opportunity to engage with Ivy+ peers)
Facilitates communication among employees and management; will likely include strategic communication support (i.e., strategic slide decks, visual communication/infographics, etc.)
Represents the OE program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies
Develops and manages outreach strategy that includes relationship development, communications, and compliance
May oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions.
May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
