Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Radiology Manager.
In this role, the successful candidate will provide support to the Radiology department under the direction of the Coordinator of Radiology. Assume leadership responsibility for the management and support of all of the Imaging areas within the Radiology department. Act as an active member of the Radiology Management Team. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations of the Radiology Department including ensuring sufficient staffing resources are available in all areas, monitoring workflow productivity and efficiency. Act as a department liaison with all inpatient units and the Emergency Department
Assist in trouble shooting issues associated with the Radiology Information System, PACS, Radiology orders, Reports and imaging studies not crossing into the various information systems.
Plan, coordinate and execute implementation to include management, professional staff, users and other Medical Center departments
Perform as the departmental systems liaison in Clinic and Hospital information systems development, implementation and enhancement projects
Involve appropriate departmental personnel. Lead information collection, analysis, design, testing, training, documentation and implementation.
Attend education workshops and seminars as appropriate.
Participate in departmental short and long term planning as it relates to information systems.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Ensure that the Radiology department is in compliance with all standards required by the FDA, DOH, MQSA, Joint Commission and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
Manage the staffing and vacation schedules for the imaging areas.
Oversight of the day to day operations of the Radiology Imaging areas.
Strict monitoring and control of the use of overtime to cover staffing vacancies in order to stay within the operational budget.
Assistance in the annual Capital and operational budget planning process
Provides data relative to the Radiology Quality Improvement Indicators.
Asses staff competencies and ensure that all mandatory education and health assessments are in compliance within hospital policies and standards
Take a lead role in evaluating new products and initiatives that can be reviewed through the Value Analysis committee.
Assistance modifying departmental polices and procedures and protocols
Assist with developing structured reporting templates in the Radiology Dictation System.
Add procedural non-supply items into the Radiology charge master.
Perform diagnostic Radiographic Imaging exams as needed.
Takes quality x-ray images of specified body areas/parts as ordered by the physician, following established procedures and guidelines as needed.
Takes initiative and is proactive in resolving issues that are encountered in the Department. Has extensive knowledge of PACS, CR Readers and their operation.
Monitor the Radiology work-lists and ensure that all studies are performed and read in a timely manner according to department standards and goals.
Responsible for proactively removing any barriers that are preventing exams from being performed in a timely manner.
Take a lead role in ensuring that all technical quality assurance activities are being performed according to department policies and regulatory agency standards including the FDA, DOH, Joint Commission and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
Responsible for oversight and management of all activities that are required by the ACR accreditation certification process.
Monitor imaging quality control on a daily basis and provide technical guidance and interventions as needed to maintain appropriate imaging quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or Equivalency required. AS required. BS degree preferred. At least (5) years experience in a supervisory position in a Radiology department or imaging facility preferred. A willingness to devote the time required completing assigned tasks on schedule. Strong customer service and communication skills. Proficient in Word, and Outlook.
New York State X-ray License required. ARRT (R)Certification. CT and/or MRI Certification Required.
Preferred Qualifications: Some background in Imaging Services administration; experience such as Supervisor or Assistant Director of an Imaging Services department.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
