The Department of Atmospheric and Hydrologic Sciences (AHS) within the School of Computing, Engineering & Environment (SCEE), College of Science and Engineering (COSE) at St. Cloud State University (SCSU) has an opening for a nine month, fixed-term non-probationary faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with an appointment starting date of August 20, 2019. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to actively participate in the delivery of SCSU's new interdisciplinary program in Environmental Engineering. Department facilities include an environmental engineering laboratory, a hydrology/fluids laboratory, a dedicated computer laboratory, and the Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility (ISELF)--a venue for innovation and collaboration focused on student education and success. This is not a tenure-track position. The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include engaging in an environment of innovation and collaboration that is focused on student success and teaching introductory and upper-division undergraduate courses such as: Natural Hazards and Human Society, Introduction to Environmental Engineering, Introduction to Physical Hydrology; Fluid Flow and Convection, Physical Hydrogeology, Surface Hydrology, Surface Water Modeling. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to: 1) teach effectively; 2) conduct scholarly activity; 3) continue preparation and study in discipline; 4) contribute to student growth and development; and 5) provide service to the university and community.
