North Shore Medical Center has been a proud part of the community since 1953. We have evolved over the years from our humble beginnings providing basic care with 108 beds and 97 employees, to a 337-bed acute care medical center. North Shore Medical Center was recently designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center – which allows us to provide a higher level of stroke care for our patients. We offer a wide array of comprehensive services including Neurosciences and Interventional Neurology, Robotic Surgery, Cardiac Cath Lab, the state’s first JCAHO Accredited Chest Pain Center, Cancer Center with EDGE Radiosurgery technology (the only hospital in Miami-Dade to offer this technology), Comprehensive Breast Institute, and award-winning Maternity care with the area’s only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Additionally, North Shore Medical Center was one of 832 hospitals nationally recognized by the Leapfrog Group in the Fall of 2017and Spring 2018 for achieving a Hospital Safety Score of “A” in patient safety. The Leapfrog Hospital Survey is the gold standard for comparing the hospital’s performance on the national standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. North Shore Medical Center was also designated with the American Heart Association’s Get With the Guidelines Stroke Gold Quality Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus, 2018 as well as the Get With the Guidelines Gold Plus for Heart Failure, 2018.
North Shore Medical Center received the American Heart/American Stroke Association’s Heart Association Get With the Guidelines ®- Heart Failure Quality Achievement Award, 2018 for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology Foundation’s secondary prevention guidelines for patients with heart failure.
North Shore Medical Center received the American Heart/American Stroke Association’s Get With the Guidelines®- Stroke and Target: Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for 2018 for its continued success in ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.

At least five years of progressive management experience in a facility environment as an Associate Chief Nursing Officer or Nursing Director of multiple, complex nursing departments.
An academic degree in nursing is required, and a Master’s degree in Nursing or related field (Health Administration, Business, Public Health, or Management) is strongly preferred
III. POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Nursing Officer provides strategic leadership as the senior executive position responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions and services within the hospital organization. The role assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating nursing practice on a facility level. The role assumes 24/7 responsibility and has accountability to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care. The Chief Nursing Officer represents nursing concerns on the governing board and at medical staff leadership meetings.
Retaining great people at the facility
Collaborate with human resources and other team members to select, onboard, orient, and provide coaching for direct reports.
Evaluate and monitor facility level people pillar statistics, participate in related calls as necessary.
